I am looking at potential low cost ways to travel to Marrakesh. Several ideas: a)low cost airfares from Europe airports b) ferry to Tangier from Spain, then train to Marrakesh, c) other? Would anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'd go for discount airline from Europe. It can be cheaper than the ferry ride to Tangiers, never mind the added cost of getting to Tarifa, then from Tangiers to Marrakesh. If you use whichbudget.com, you can select Marrakesh and "backtrack," to see which cities originate flights to there. Then you can check to see which has the best deals, and which will be closest to where you are, when you decide to fly over.

Rhett, RyanAir flies to Marrakesh, they are a great budget airliner (my husband and I love them). I would look to see if they have flights from the destination you'll be starting off at.

My husband and I found the cheapest way for us was flying from Madrid directly to Marrakech on Easy Jet. The tickets were really inexpensive (less than 50 bucks round trip when we purchased).

I flew from London to Marrakech on RyanAir. It was easy and fairly quick. RyanAir usually has a bunch of sales, so just try to get a good price. Being a low cost airline you do have to pay to check luggage or to get food. The airport is really close to the city center and a taxi was fairly inexpensive and readily available.
