Arriving Linate in May - 2 hr time window to Milan Central?

So excited to be returning to Italy in May 2011! We are arriving @ Linate airport through London Heathrow. If we arrive in Milan at noon, will we be able to catch a 14:00 train to CT after customs (?), ATM, get bus tickets, bus ride, get train tickets? I've always done direct flights, so I wasn't sure on this trip if we go through customs at Heathrow or Linate (coming from US)? Thanks

Customs will be in Milan. That will be a walk through. However, passport control/immigration could take awhile. That too will be in Milan. (At Heathrow, you'll do an airside transfer from one flight to another. Do no go through passport control. You will have to go through security again.)

Two hours will be tight.

Ok, thanks. There are always later trains - though it would be nice not to have to sit around too long waiting.

About LHR. We're going IAD-LHR-LIN w/ a 2.5 hr layover in LHR. We're flying business class on BA (thank you mileage cc!!) W/an airside transfer are we going to be able to use the Club lounges? (I know there are two parts to Terminal 5, not sure where we're entering/departing)

In any case, now there is an express bus (X73) connecting Linate airport with San Babila subway station, with one stop only. It costs € 1,00 (the regular urban fare).

Yes, you can use the Club lounges in T5 (there are two, I believe), IF you can find them! We did not on our flight over, but planned ahead and did find it for our return flight. You might try the Heathrow airport website, or the BA website under lounges to figure it out. . . Between your flight from the US and your flight to Italy you may transfer from one section of T5 to the other. Make sure you go to the one your Milan flight departs from before deciding you have time to hang out in the lounge. . . . The good news is that with a BC boarding pass, you can use "Fast Track" through the security screening. Watch for the sign as you approach. Sometimes there is someone there waving you in, but not always.
