Is this turn around time possible? We arrive on American Airlines and leave on Czech Air. I've called and emailed but have not received a response on whether we can make it or what happens if we miss that flight. There is another flight at 7:30p but don't really want to waste a whole day and cannot find out if they will put us on the later flight or if there will be a fee involved.

As long as your plane arrives in Zurich on time you should make your connecting flight. As international airports go, Zurich Airport is small, and easy to navigate. You will have to go through another security check at ZRH, so to speed things up make sure your carry-ons are compliant with both TSA & European regulations.

This looks like plenty of time but might check with the airlines, or a travel agent. Zurich's old airport was small, the new one is a whole different animal. It's huge. It can be quite a commute from the international terminal to the domestic terminal. As I recall it took us about 20 minutes or so for this change, including waiting for the tram.
Just a useless note: this new terminal is known for having the longest bar in the world--go figure.
