Anyone know how far the airport is from the center of town in Dublin? Arriving late @ 10:30pm...Are we (family of 4)better off taking a cab to hotel or would mass transit be a good choice?

I'd stay near the airport for one night. Not sure that even if buses run at that hour, you'd want to be navigating your way late at night. It's a long way, and also a long taxi ride into the center. And there's a great little hotel near the airport - the Holiday Inn Express. Great rooms, great breakfast, great price when we were there. Tripadvisor reviews are tops too. I think we caught a Crown Plaza shuttle to get there (it's next door to the HI) but if the shuttle isn't running a taxi ride there would be much cheaper, I imagine. The next morning you can catch a bus into town and drop bags at your hotel.

I agree with Russ, it would be better to stay near the airport if you are arriving that late. It's a good 20-30 minutes into the heart of town from the airport and trying to wrangle four people and luggage at that hour would be a nightmare to me.

Ditto. By the time you get off plane, get luggage etc can be at least 11:30 possibly. Stay at airport.
