Anywhere Anytime France - any news/tips??

RailEurope's new "Anywhere Anytime France" rail purchase & booking option looks attractive. Just wondering if anyone's had any experience one way or another, e.g. any problems printing tickets at kiosks, finding kiosks at stations, getting help with problems, etc. Thanks!

I always go to a ticket window to buy tickets so I can ask questions about my trip. Often the clerk can print a computer generated itinerary for me showing train numbers, departure and arrival times, stations where I change trains and other vital info.

Sometimes it means arriving at the station early enough to take time to do this. The kiosks are ideal if you have experience and know what you are doing.

Hmmmm.....sounds like an interesting proposition. I'm not sure how they want you to access the ticket kiosks...but if you have your confirmation e-mails with you, you can always get your tickets at the ticket window. Obviously, the more trips you take, the better deal it is...a one-way special, first class, Nice-Paris, on the French national rail website is about $150. But if you don't mind travelling second class, you can still find MUCH better deals at voyages-sncf.com . My only concern would be that this system might limit the trains that you can book (RailEurope doesn't list ALL trains that run), and the ones they offer might not be according to your schedule. You also have to book thru your on-line account, so if you wish to book last-minute while in France, you'll have to find Internet access.
