Daughter flying London to Budapest in July. I had a heck of a time finding the document check at Barcelona airport...turns out it was where new tickets are sold. My research tells me it's somewhere else for Stansted. Has anyone checked in there recently?
Is she flying Ryanair? In 2012 you just showed your passport at the check in counter with your pre-printed ticket. Even if you didn't have luggage to check. It may be different now... But everyone there's speaks English so it'll be easier than Barcelona!
Yes regular check in desk for Ryanair if you have hand luggage just go straight to security and show your boarding card then go through to the bars and duty free shops when boarding you will be asked for both boarding pass and passport
Just an FYI, jayhamps post is only true if you have an EU / EEA passport.
If you don't (IE Americans) you need to do the check before going through security even with hand baggage only.
I'm afraid I don't recall where it is, but all the Ryanair gates and customer service desks are grouped together at stanstead.
Thanks. I was hoping someone had gone through recently. It was pretty amazing how, at Barcelona, I knew about the Visa Check and still couldn't find the desk for the life of me. In the end, we walked over to the ticketing desk and, from the far back of the line, I saw that a little handwritten sign on a piece of copier paper had been scotch taped to the window. That tiny sign said Document Check.
