Any recent Condor experience?

We are on Condor PDX to FRA next week. This morning I received an email from the airline with a great deal of outdated information such as obsolete pandemic requirement for entry forms, admonitions for masking at all times, etc.

What really caught my attention and thus my query is this paragraph:

  • Please note that due to the safeguards in place at airports, passengers are allowed only one carry-on item. Any additional items which are permitted in your fare conditions, must be checked in (free of charge).

Can we really only bring ONE ITEM even in Business Class? This was not the case when we flew Condor in 2021. I had a backpack and a purse as well as my 21” rolling bag. We are inclined to check our bags but want a couple of items in the cabin with us as well.

I don’t want to sit in a phone queue to ask someone who is reading from a rule book. Has anyone flown Condor that can give me personal experience?

I just flew Condor Business class from BWI to FRA earlier this summer. I had a carryon size backpack and a personal item (much smaller compressible backpack). I was not questioned at all nor told that I was only allowed one 1 item.

Also, for checked luggage you get 2 suitcases and each can weigh up to 32kg.

Enjoy business class! I definitely did.

Don't forget that on your return to the US you get Lufthansa lounge access with your Business Class ticket. If the ticket agent checking you in doesn't remind you, make sure to ask.

Edit for reminder of lounge.

Hi Laurel, we flew Anchorage to FRA R/T 2 weeks ago in Economy. Worst economy of any airline I can remember ever flying in. I know your in business, so you won’t have to suffer like we did. But, they were enforcing the masking.

DB and Tammie,

Very helpful, thanks!

Tammie, we tried economy on Condor once and as soon as we were in the air, begged an upgrade to economy plus as we could not even move in our seats and I was traveling with a cat under my feet. Economy Plus was fine.

We flew Premium Economy Pdx-Frankfurt in June. Be glad you are in business, PE was very uncomfortable.

I had a carry on suitcase and a crossbody bag. I didn't have any problems with either Condor or our Lufthansa connection. In fact, nobody looked at my bag in Frankfurt either.

Masks were required on the flight, but they didn't ask for my vaccine card or anything like that.

I flew FRA to SEA in July in an economy seat. It wasn’t my first choice, but my travel plans changed and I had to book a new ticket home with short notice. People definitely had more than one bag and I saw several with a personal item and carry on. Masks were expected to be worn. It wasn’t the most comfortable seat, but the food was edible and it got me home on time and my checked bag made it home as well.
