Hello, we're looking at leasing a car from Renaultusa for 16 days this Sept/Oct. I've gotten a price quote of $989 which is more expensive than renting, but I know there tend to be a lot of "hidden" fee's or high costs to bring down deductibles with renting. Has anyone ever bargained with them for a better price? Does anyone have any input good or bad on them? We've looked at (I think) AutoEurope and a couple of others, but this one seems the most straightforward. Thanks for your help.
Hi Linda! Check with Kemwel. Just type in kemwel as a search and check their rates. I have found them to be very reliable and the cheapest car rentals in Europe. Enjoy!

Hi Linda,
I am leasing a car from AutoFrance.net. I started the process quite a few months ago. The initial quote was reasonalbe but before I finally decided on them I asked for a lower rate and they obliged because the dollar was doing a lot better. I also had a quote from kemwell which was within a few dollars of auto france, but I chose auto france mostly because I liked the choice of cars. I'm getting a Peugeot 407. I leave in 27 days!
I leased from AutoEurope and it was great. No hidden fees.
As far as I know the minimum lease period is 17 days.
I liked the fact that we picked the exact car we wanted. It's possible that the resale value of the car you pick can effect the overall price of the lease. We picked a Renault Grand Scenic II, seven-passenger diesel with a standard transmission.
Leases include full CDW insurance rather than being added to the price like rentals do.
Where you pick up and drop off the car makes a difference on the price. You can pick up and drop off in France for free. We picked up in A'dam and dropped off in Rome. Even with the extra fees it was a considerably better deal than renting. On our itinerary leasing was about $1000 less than renting (as I recall it was cheaper before factoring in CDW cost).
You didn't say what your itinerary is. Maybe if you're picking up and droping off at the same spot outside of France renting would be better.
Hello and thanks for all your info. We're picking up and dropping off in Paris. I didn't realize that there were Autofrance and Autoeurope. I also hadn't heard of the Kemwel. I'll try them, thanks again.
