Any ideas for a 3-4 day trip to anywhere flying out from London

I am interested in advice and ideas. I have a friend who lives in central London, I have been to London 3 times already. I wanted to use some frequent flyer miles and her hospitality. I could fly to London, hang out at her place for a few days, and go somewhere else for 3-4 days. Like fly into Spain, France, Italy, etc..I live in So. Cal. And I figured I would use her place as a base to go somewhere else in Europe, and since her place is open to me to hang when I want, I could take advantage of the flexibility of her space.
I was thinking of waiting until around mid-September when the weather starts to cool and the tourists head home. I like to pack light and I can take a small personal bag for a short flight/trip out of London.
I know this question is vague, but so are my plans. I know the regional airports are great and easy to fly into Europe from London as the hub...
I was on a RS tour this past April in Sicily, and it was so great! I am going on the Best of Adriatic next May/25. I have traveled a fair bit in Europe already....I just love it there. Palermo & the rest of Sicily was one of my favorite places I've ever been to...just sayin'

Perfectly possible. The only problem is too much choice. London's six airports will get you pretty much anywhere, north, south, east or west (well Ireland is the only choice for going west). Decisions, decisions ......

What are your interests?

Foodie? Architecture? Theatre? Museums? Art? Hiking?

You could easily visit Wales, Scotland and France by train. Ireland, Northern Ireland, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Turkey etc by flying.

Where have you always wanted to go?

Last year, I sailed Southampton to Lisbon.

Lisbon is an incredible city. You could go to Sintra and Belem.

I also went to Bruges, Belgium and Santiago Spain. You could have a relaxing and interesting three days in either city

As someone else asked, what are your interests?

Go to GoogleFlights, put in one way, depart London, arrive Europe and a date. Then set the filters to non-stop and put a max price on it. Say, $100. Then look at all of the options.. Change the date and repeat because not all discount airlines fly the same routes every day.

Fuertaventura or Tenerife. Easy to get to, and there's always a package deal available with TUI or one of the other European agencies.
