Any experiences with new regs about carry-on cameras, tablets, laptops?

I wonder if anyone here on the Forum has traveled recently from airports or on airlines impacted by these new regs. If so, how did it work and did you have any problems? I will be in Europe soon, with no issues going over, but I will return from Athens on Turkish Air with a short connection in Istanbul, then to San Francisco. Thanks.

I don't have direct experience yet. However, Turkish is hands down my favorite airline, and I flew Turkish with a lot of electronics just a couple of weeks before the ban was announced. Needless to say, I have been following the developments closely.

My understanding is that you are allowed to keep your electronics with you until you board the the US bound flight in Istanbul. Shortly before you board the flight to the US, Turkish Air will wrap your electronics and tag them for you to pick up when you arrive in the US. All of the electronics go into a separate area of the hold, away from checked baggage. I have not heard any first hand accounts of how well this method is working.
