Any experience flying Condor

Condor Airlines keeps popping up and the best price and schedule for our trip to Italy but I can’t seem to find anyone who has traveled with them.

Any experiences to share?

We have several times. First trip we were in economy and it was so bad we paid on the plane, en route, to be upgraded to the two remaining economy plus-type seats, which luckily included entertainment and a decent meal. Economy seating is very tight…unless they’ve changed it with the newer planes. You might want to look at https://seatmaps.com/ for specific info on seats for the flight you are considering.

Since that trip in 2015, we’ve taken them 4 times in Business Class using Alaska Airlines points three times, which was a great deal, and the service, food and seats were great. They recently introduced true lay-flat seating like other carriers have and the food is some of the best we’ve ever had in Business Class,

2018 we flew Condor from Portland Oregon to Frankfurt Germany. It was an every-other-day schedule. Because the plane that day didn't arrive, we couldn't fly until the next day. They put us up overnight at a hotel. Fortunately, the plane arrived the next afternoon. However, they wouldn't pay for the unused hotel in Europe we missed the first night. I swore I would never use Condor again.

2024 we booked a flight on Condor the night before from Frankfurt to Seattle, because of a missed flight into Frankfurt. It was cheaper than the Lufthansa flight we missed. I remember the food in Economy being decent. I would have no problem flying Condor FROM Frankfurt, as they have plenty of their planes there.

Friends used them last year from Seattle to Frankfurt and were happy with them. Their experience put them on our radar for future trips.

We flew Condor both ways SEA - FRA in economy, the row behind premium economy and it was pretty miserable for my husband, uncomfortable for me. This was April 2024. I would not fly in economy with them again on that route.

We flew Condor in 2024 when we were heading to Prague for our RS Best of Eastern Europe tour. Our flight was PDX - FRA - PRG. We flew premium economy, and the actual flight itself was fine with good food service. The problem we had was that our flight out of PDX was delayed for over two hours, and we missed our connection to PRG when we landed in FRA. And, there's were it went totally downhill.

Because of the delay, Condor proactively booked us on a flight to Prague that required a stop and plane change in Venice. We, however, did not arrive in time to even make that flight. The Condor service desk at FRA was very inadequately staffed, and the line to speak to an agent to be rebooked on another flight was horrendous! I think we spent an hour and a half just standing on line waiting to speak to an agent. After that experience, I swore I would never fly Condor again.
