We are doing MWAT in May 2024. After Chamonix we’re going to Annecy for a night or 2 then head to Milan . I have been looking at transportation options but still couldn’t figure out what to do. Any experience & suggestions with this itinerary? We prefer less transfers, quicker and comfortable.

The TER from Annecy to Geneva does not appear to be on the schedule that far out, but it is running currently. There is a direct EC train from Geneva to Milano Centrale departing 1:39 pm, arriving Milan at 5:40 pm. Just wait a while.

The other route via the Chambéry-Turin-Milan railway will not be back in operation in May, so the suggested route via Geneva is the best!!

Thanks to all! I really appreciate it . So taking train from Geneva is the way to do it . How about from Annecy to Geneva ? Does anyone have used blablacar? Or better with Flix bus? With flix bus do I need to reserve it ahead of time?

There are direct trains from Annecy to Geneva, plus other trains with a transfer in La Roche sur Foron or Annemasse. Look at the schedule for a random day in, say, January to give yourself an idea of the schedule.
In Geneva, the station you need is Cornavin.
