Angled or straight seats for a couple on Polaris

Hi — I thought I read the odd row center seats in Polaris were better for couples traveling together but on the 777-200 I’m booked on the odd rows are straight ahead and the even rows are angled.should we switch to an even row. Is the key to have the angled seats when traveling with a companion? Thanks!

Stay with the seats you have. The odd rows are the ones closer together that work best for couples and also are away from the aisle providing more privacy

Here's a review by The Points Guy of the Polaris seating on the 777-200:

He gives recommendations for couples and solo travelers.

There's a diagram showing the angled seats and straight seats. You can see how much closer the straight seats in the center are to each other. The pairs of angled seats are separated by their console and storage cubby areas. The straight seats have their console and storage cubbies near the aisle, which puts the pairs of straight seats nearer each other.
