Lufthansa's first two mega-jumbo-jets A380 are already built and are currently being painted at the Airbus facilities in Hamburg, Germany. Today the airline announced the names for their 1st two jets which are being delivered to the airline in May. Usually the naming procedure with Lufthansa jets is a follows: Very large ones, like B747s are given names of German states, like Brandenburg, Hessen, Bavaria, Berlin (DC) etc. Medium sized planes are given names of German cities, like Mannheim, Heidelberg, Essen etc. So what do you do with planes that are larger than the ones that already carry a state's name? Well, the very first A380 will be named... "Frankfurt am Main", the second one will be "München". Plans are that the German national football team will be flying to the world cup in South Africa on board of the "Frankfurt am Main".Picture: http://www.fraport.de/cms/media/108/108186.a380_lufthansa.jpg
