Looking for the best way to get from the airport in Amsterdam to our hotel. Train would be a hassle as we have a good amt of luggage. Looking for a shuttle of some kind
Since this is related to your other question, just how much luggage do you anticipate having? And your ages?
Thanks for the website, will check it out. Best I have found so far is Hotwire. Luggage amount is 1 carry on & 2 large suitcases (appx 55 lbs each). Still trying to reduce it
Not to be too nosy, but is that 130 lbs of luggage for one person? Or more?
2 people
You might want to check with your airline about that double 55 pounds. I thought 50 was the limit per bag without paying extra charges, but maybe that's only for domestic flights. I know our daughter had to rearrange some stuff here to get their large family bag down to below 50 pounds one time, but it was a domestic flight. Our "big" bags weigh about 20 pounds each when full. It can be done.
My mother used to travel heavy and couldn't change her ways. World travels were really rough on my father who was in his 70's. Our new family rules are that each person handles their own luggage. Everyone is allowed one 21" rolling bag and a shoulder bag. Don't pack anything that you cannot lug 2 miles by yourself. Everyone can travel indefinitely using Rick Steve's famous packing list. The only exception is if you're moving there.
We usually stay in Amsterdam Sudout by the football stadium (soccer.) It's just a 5-7 minute train ride from the airport, and a couple of hundred yards walk.
