Amsterdam to Paris by Train. No tickets available for April 17 or the morning of April 18.

I need to get to Paris from Amsterdam on the morning of April 18. I've been all over the Thalys site and there seems to be no tickets available for the morning of the 18th, and no tickets at all for April 17th. No explanation. Just a blank spot where the trains should be listed. The dates before and after are running regular schedules. What the heck? Suggestions?

Assuming the Thalys is not running those days.
1. Fly.
2. Go to www.bahn.com and put in Amsterdam to Paris, then click on the "Further Options" button. Then click on the "Connections: More means of transport" button, deselect ICE. Then you will see all the connections not using the Thalys. Bad news is that it is 7 to 9 hours. with 4 connections.
3. Take the bus.

Looks like 1. change Paris reservations or 2. fly. I think I'll opt for changing reservations, assuming I can. Thanks for the info.

Currently, the NS International Page - https://www.nsinternational.com/en - is routing passengers from Amsterdam Centraal to Paris Nord via Brussels on IC Brussels/Thalys trains for these dates. They are not showing any Thalys from Amsterdam, but you can connect to Thalys in Brussels. This routing takes 4.37 hours or 5.07 hours, depending on which time of day you select. Granted the Thalys direct is often under 3.5 hours, but this is an option...

It sounds like engineering work on the line, probably using the Easter weekend as there will be fewer commuters.

Ah, Easter, that makes sense. I guess. I just changed my travel dates. I will not be defeated by Thalys!

Thanks for the heads up Linda. I travel with a small rolly bag. I have a solo seat, so hopefully, I won't be fighting for luggage space. But I'll be ready!
