Is it realistic to travel from Amsterdam to Copenhagen, to just spend the day? We would need to travel back to Amsterdam, all in the same 24 hour span of time. OR should we just stick to Amsterdam? We will only be in Amsterdam for four days. I am trying to determine if it makes sense to add a day (no staying overnight) in Copenhagen. If you could share your thoughts/experience, that would be appreciated. Thanks.
I think this would be practical only if you flew. Check out the European budget airlines, like Ryanair and Easyjet. Good luck!
or check out belgium. brugge, ghent, or antwerpen is really nice for a day.
I would leave Copenhagen for another time you would just be traveling rather than enjoying Copenhagen.. If you have an xtra day consider some of the wonderful towns nr Amsterdam by train Eindoven, Haarlem,or Edam.
I'm with Kirstin. Even flying to Denmark wouldn't be worth it as the transfer times would consume your time quickly. The Tivoli in Copenhagen is open late, but other than the clubs/restaurants it didn't seem like there was much to do after 6 p.m. I'd stick much closer to Amsterdam - Even Haarlem which is about 20 minutes outside Amsterdam.
Thank you all for your help. I appreciate it very much.
