We have a 20 hour overlay, is it possible to store bags at Shippol, while we spend the night in Amsterdam. would make traveling on the train much easier, but not sure about facilities. Thanks Barbara

I did this very thing. I used the lockers near the left luggage service. There is an attended luggage check and also luggage lockers that take coin. It is located in the basement between arrivals hall 1 and two - easy to find. Be aware if you use the lockers that you have to pay a portion up front (for the medium sized locker it was 6 euros) and have $$/change to retrieve your item upon return. Don't fold your ticket over the barcode (it gets you back in the locker) and keep it in a safe place. If you need your bag to check back in upon return, make sure you store in a luggage locker that is outside of a secure area and NOT in one of the arrival halls.

You're better off using the baggage storage options at Schipol instead of Centraal Station. At CS they have just installed new lockers that only accept European smart-chip debit cards.
