Wong, Is there any possibility you could obtain a copy of the Italy Guidebook, either a paper copy or download the E-book version? I don't have information regarding "taxi" fares for the day, but I did get a private driver for 9 hours for 300 euro. There are more than a few to choose from and you can find reviews for some on Tripadvisor. I used www.italylimousine.com. They had great reviews and, at the end of our day with our driver, they had one more satisfied customer.

My daughter and I used the services of a limo/taxi service when we stayed in amalfi in 2004. The company is called Positano Taxi. Can highly recommend them. From memory cost for 4 hours back then was 120 euro.
