Alternate transit plans during London Tube strike

I arrive at LHR on 28 April and have plans to take ES to Paris the next day. My hotel reservation is in W. Hampstead. If the strike happens as planned, will some Tube lines still operate or will the entire system shut down? What alternatives do I have for transportation LHR to W. Hampstead and W. Hampstead to St. Pancras on 28 and 29 April. I may look for a hotel close to St. Pancras if these trips are going to take hours on the bus. I'm thinking I can get to Paddington by rail. Then getting around London from there is the problem. I've had experience with Italian rail strikes, but shutting down the Tube for 48 hours sounds like a big nightmare. Any help is appreciated!

I have a tentative answer to my own question. National Express coach to Victoria (central London); bus 73 from Victoria to St. Pancras. The simplest route would include staying in the Victoria or St. Pancras area overnight. There is bus service to W. Hampstead but would involve bus transfers. I'd appreciate more suggestions. Any idea if the DLR will be running or is it part of the Underground system? I might make a connection from somewhere to W. Hampstead via DLR.
