I booked this upgraded class on a direct from JFK to MIlan and then back from ROME to JFK. You get wider seats, much more leg room, an adjustable foot rest, 120 degrees to recline and a curtained cabin, separate from coach. You still have to use the coach lavatory, though. Other than that, you eat the same food as coach, and I think the liquid refreshments are the same, except that you do get a glass of wine or juice upon boarding, which I don't think they pass out in coach. The A-330 is newer and in excellent shape. The entertainment system has movies, tv shows, video games, music. I couldn't imagine how uncomfortable it would have been to be smashed 4 across in coach for 9 hours back from Rome, so I would personally either save my money a little longer OR stay in cheaper hotels in order to ante up the extra $800-$1000 for the round trip ticket. Of course, personal comfort is a personal decision.
