Does anyone have any experience catching a 6:45 am flight out of Venice? I know private water taxi's are expensive. There is an Alilaguna Water Bus which, according to the schedule, is supposed to get me to the airport by 4:59. If that route is usually on time, it would be nice to know. Thanks!

I took the "bus" a couple of years ago from San Marco square to the airport. As I recall it took about an hour to get there. I caught it at about 3:30am was to the airport before 5, for a 7am flight, I had PLENTY of time to just sit at the airport as I just breezed right through security (since no one else was there that early). At that time I think the cost for the water bus was about 13 Euros. Hope that helps! Enjoy Venice, it's one of my favorite cities in the world!

Hi Angie, I will be in Venice during May and plan to take the Alilaguna Water Bus and you can pay for the tickets in advance. Leaving Venice, I too have a flight back that leaves at 7:45 am. and I have to return the car at the airport, so I am stuck with sleeping at the airport. Hope is large enough that has comfortable benches. Anyway, look up the website www.venicelink.com and it has all the info on the Alilaguna Water Bus. Hope this helps. Good luck,
