Alaska Airlines is following the trend of replacing economy seats with premium offerings.
"Alaska plans to also introduce its Premium Reserve product, a 35-seat premium economy cabin with more legroom, greater recline, wider seats and enhanced meal offerings. The airline plans to offer 58 extra-legroom seats in its Premium Class cabin and 152 standard economy seats.
Of particular note is what Alaska plans to do with its forthcoming Boeing 737 Max 10 deliveries. At least 25 of the 105 jets Alaska has on order will feature 12 lie-flat Aurora Suites, 12 Premium Reserve seats, 48 Premium Class seats and 87 economy seats, according to the airline. It will be the first time Alaska has installed a flat-bed product on a single-aisle aircraft."
