We will have to see what impact this will have.

Hawaiian is expanding at a fairly decent rate and always seems to have new routes popping up. Not so much from what I have seen in Alaska. I hope this does not reduce any current service from either airline which always seems to be the result of these mergers.

I have had nothing but good luck with both airlines and have used Alaska as a starting point for trips through Seattle to Hawaii with good luck as well.

Both airlines have a high degree of customer satisfaction. It’s one of the reasons Delta has not done as well as they had hoped in Seattle.

Good!

Regarding Delta, they are also quite a good airline, and I'm happy they're competing for the Seattle market. Hope they stick around.

If the US government approves the deal, the two airlines will combine operations but operate separate brands.

The current Alaska management will operate both brands. But by combining operations, it will save them money. On the 12 routes they compete on, you can expect consolidations to save money. (Less flights.)

If you remember, Alaska bought Virgin America a few years ago. That brand eventually disappeared. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hawaiian fade into the sunset in a short time.

Wow I sure hope not! Hawaiian is our favorite airline and they just announced new direct flights to Lihue and Kona from our home airport. We are fortunate to fly business class. Even though the A-321 Neo is not as luxurious as the wide bodies it’s still pretty nice. Once you board, hear that first aloha, get that mai-tai in hand, you are in Hawaii!
