We are looking for transportation from the airport in verona, italy to our hotel in town other than a taxi. How much would the taxi run if you have any idea. We have a long flight and thought it would be better for us with private transportation to our hotel rather than move thru crowds when we are full of jet lag. thanks b
Hi Bonnie,
I haven't flown into the Verona Airport but I'd e-mail your hotel to ask for a recommendation about the best mode of transportation.
Also, here's the Verona Airport Website
The Verona Airport Ground Transportation webpage says:
There is a bus leaving every 20 minutes from the train station to the Verona Airport. (and back) It takes about 20 minutes.
Bonnie,
Last year I flew into Verona. I took the aerobus from the Verona airport to the Verona rail station and then I took a city bus from the rail station to my hotel. I got off at the city gates (near the ampitheatre) and walked to my hotel (Hotel Torcolo).
The bus from the airport to the Verona rail station is direct and quite easy. The airport is very small and the busstop is well marked and easy to find. It leaves fairly frequently. What you might consider is taking the aerobus from the airport to the railway station and then if you don't feel like navigating the city bus system, you could get a taxi from the rail station to your hotel.
If you want to take a taxi the entire way, I would suggest that you contact your hotel. They could probably provide information on options for getting from the airport to your hotel. Alternatively, you might check the Verona forum on tripadvisor.com.
