What is the options of transportation to get to the Rialto Bridge area from Marco Polo Airport? Looking for the quickest/easiest but also affordable. Thanks.
See this page on the airport Web site.
The least expensive option is to 1) take either the ACTV No.5 bus or the blue ATVO bus from the front of the airport to the Piazalle Roma. The ATVO bus is more direct and takes 20 minutes. About 3Euro. If you buy a tourist travel card from the Hellovenezia kiosk at the airport, I believe that it covers both the ACTV bus (only) and also the vaporetto ride to the Rialto stop. Either bus will take you to the Piazalle Roma. From the Piazzale Roma, jump on either the No. 1 or No. 2 vaporetto going to Lido. The No. 1 is a local and the No. 2 is an express (fewer stops).
The Alilaguna boat (about 13Euro) from the airport does not stop at Rialto. It does stop at St. Marks and you would have to transfer to another vaporetto to the Rialto stop. The water taxi from the airport to your hotel is private transportation and will cost 90E and up for up to 6 people.
Take the Alilaguna to St. Marks, then get off and walk to Rialto (assuming your luggage has wheels). It is a very short walk and level with the exception that you may have to drag your luggage over a couple of bridges. I've done it myself. Alilaguna Linea ORO or Gold Line (Airport-San Marco Giardinetti), with an intermediate stop at San Zaccaria.
