Airport Lounge in Vienna

We are flying to Budapest in September on Austrian Air and have a 5hr 20min layover in Vienna. The trip was booked using United miles. If we have United Club passes, are we able to use them in the Austrian Air lounge, if there is one? Thanks for any information you have.

Who knows???? Call Austrian Air and United. The lounges are very nice in Vienna. We used them last fall when we were on a business class ticket on Austrisn Air connecting to a United flight home.

I just returned from Vienna flying BA Club World on miles to Heathrow. The Vienna airport is small. It was my impression that the lounge is shared among airlines. The lounge is nice indeed and very handy for boarding.

I cannot shed any light on use via United Club passes.

What Frank said -- call Austrian Air. The United app indicates "eligible" passengers are welcome -- but doesn't specify eligibility for each lounge.

I doubt that you can use a united club pass for a lounge in Europe. You can use the lounge if you have Star Alliance Gold status

Have you visited their website? Most airlines have information about their lounges on their websites, including what is required for access. Most likely a business class ticket on Austrian Airlines or code sharing airline, or a Star Alliance frequent flyer card with gold or higher status.

Thanks everyone. It doesn't look like we will be able to utilize the lounge. We've been to Vienna before, but never to the airport there. I wonder if we will have enough time to go into town? Or if there is somewhere else close to the airport where we can just walk around stretch our legs?

Actually might have been faster to fly into Vienna and take the train to Budapest. We did the reverse this fall. We ended in Budapest but didn't have tickets home. We could not get decent flights out of Budapest so we started looking west - Vienna and Munich. Finally found decent tickets from Vienna, London, Chicago. So we took the train to Vienna. Spent three nights in Vienna and got the flight. It was a 7.30, 8 am flight. The lounge just after clearing exit immigration in Vienna. Open at 6am and was an Austrain Air lounge with great breakfast.
