airport hotels in Malaga Spain

That may be because there is nothing there. Also, it is not very common for hotels to provide shuttle service. That is more of an American thing. We flew out of Malaga a year ago last January and I don't remember seeing much around the airport. We caught the bus from downtown which was convenient since we had an early afternoon departure. Delta direct to New York.

We also had the same problem in May. Since there were many of us meeting we did not want to go all the way downtown in case some people were late (they were) so we opted for the Holiday Inn which was fairly close to the airport (a few miles) We knew it was a short cab ride if it was late, or the bus if it was early. We took the bus, but had to walk over the bridge that went up over the road with our bags. A little difficult, but we all packed light. The hotel looked like it was in a wierd area, but it ended up being okay for the one night. On the way out we stayed downtown and just took a cab back to the airport.

Unless you are arriving very late and leaving very early, I'd stay in the city center and use cabs. Malaga has a very nice pedestrian center and is really a pleasure to visit. There are some very reasonably priced b and bs/inns, and the owners will help you with a cab. I arranged a cab the night before to pick me up at 4:30 am the next day from the center, and it's only about 15 minutes to the airport.
