airlines Mancester-Venice?

we are planning to start in manchester-venice-pairs-london
looking at all the otpitons from manchester-venice there does nto seem to be many options accept a direct Friday morning flight. We plan to be flying to Venice on September 7th a Monday. The best option seems to be BMI changing in London...would rather direct if possible.

www.swoodoo.com... There are also other cities not too far from Manchester like Leeds, Liverpool or the East Midlands airport (although they do require a train ride from Manchester...).

According to www.flylc.com, you can fly Leeds Bradford-Venice Marco Polo on Jet2, East Midlands-Venice Marco Polo on easyJet, and Liverpool-Venice Treviso on Ryanair. Check each airline's Web site to verify this.

ya there are options but alot of them arrive in really late at night in Venice....
easyjet from east midlands is late arrival.
Jet2 is possible though.

One thing to consider about Leeds-Bradford is that it is not a huge airport and that it is out by itself NW of Leeds. Whereas there is an train station right at Manchester Airport such a luxury does not exist at LBA. If you use train to arrive in the area you will need to find a way to get out to the airport.

ya I was researching this too....it seems there is a bus to the airprot from the station but with the hassle factor?
I wish there was more direct to venice from Manchester.

Several Thoughts:

  1. I do not actually see a manchester-venice flt w/ Jet2 on the 7th of Sep. I could be wrong. You may want to double check.

  2. If you are travelling in a group of 2 or larger and are willing to spend a little more to get the flight you want you could consider either a Taxi. Train tickets will probably be about 15-20 GBP day of, before you add on bus tickets and the hassle factor.
