So, after throwing out hundreds of unsolicited credit card offers throughout the years, one finally grabbed my attention because it allows for airline miles and investment transfers. Does anyone on this forum use Worldpoints? My most obvious question before I sign on the dotted line: Can I exchange points for flights to Europe? The fine-print doesn't indicate any geographic restrictions, other than I can't exchange points for flights originating in Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
I would suggest you do some research elsewhere before making any decision. This board is great for tips on European travel, but you won't find adequate information on frequent flyer programs here. FF programs are very complex and if you want to be successful you must know about all the little rules and gotchas. The airlines do their best to obfuscate these rules, and this board (great as it it) is not a good place to find out about them.
Go visit flyertalk.com and get an education on FF programs before signing up for any program. It's the best source of info on this complex subject.
I have a B of A Worldpoints card. The interest rate is nice and low, but last year it cost me about $800 in addition to my points to travel SF to Frankfurt. I got a Chase United mileage card this year, and it cost me 80,000 miles to do that same round trip, plus Frankfurt to Istanbul. The interest rate is much higher, but I pay it off every month. So I am using my Chase card rather than the Worldpoints now. And recently United was giving at least 15,000 ff miles if you sign up for the card.
