Has anyone else noticed that some airlines have raised their carry-on weight limits in the past few months? Virgin Atlantic went from 6 kg to 10 kg. Icelandair also raised their's to 10 kg. Any other's I missed?
I don't know if this counts as "missed", but in the 5 years that we've been flying to Europe, we have done carry-on only and we've never been asked to have our bags weighed, or sized.
OTOH, my wife was stopped from taking her bag on an Orangelines bus in Budapest and forced to put it underneath, even though I had passed in front of her unchaallenged with the identical bag - both of which fit their sizer.
British Airways has increased its allowance, can't remember what it was (5 or 10kgs?) because we always check our luggage so carry on weight was not an issue. It is also experimenting with discount fares on some of its European flights for people who travel with hand baggage only. "A 23kg (51lb) weight limit applies to all hand baggage and you must be able to lift the bag into the overhead locker"
