We are trying to make air reservations to fly from JFK to Paris in late June. The best rates are with either Icelandair or Air Berlin. Can anyone advise if they have used either of these airlines and what their experience was?

We flew Iceland Air many times in the past. However, the past few years we have opted for the direct day flight to London (we fly from Boston). It is slightly more expensive but we are ...older... now and prefer less jet lag. Regarding Iceland air, we were able to sleep on one of the legs almost, which means most people would fall asleep. The transfer in Iceland is pleasant and easy. The extreme positive was that it was good to walk around for a while mid-trip. The negative was that the the last couple of flights or so, seemed rather rickety, which made this tentative flyer nervous. A more rational person would consider their safety record and the weather; consequently, disregarding the plane's rattles. Just my experience with Iceland Air...

I use AirBerlin all over the EU, so would not hesitate to use them to the EU from JFK. Modern fleet and very professional. They are a terrific airline.
