Air Travel Between Ireland and England

We are traveling to Dublin for two weeks, then on to London for a week before heading home to Portland, OR. When searching for airfare, most sites only give me round trip options. I have decided to book between Portland and London, but now need to figure out how and where to book a hopper back and forth between Dublin and London. My question: What airline and/or sites should I use for booking a flights between London and Dublin? Any advice, help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you.

Jaye, Using open-jaw flights into Dublin and out from London would be the easiest solution, and may in fact be cheaper (although I haven't looked at the costs). There appears to be a good choice of flight options with budget airlines between Dublin and London, but of course you'll have to allow for the cost of those flights. Keep in mind that with budget flights in Europe, the cost will always be above the advertised price, after the "applicable fees" have been added. Check This Website for further information on airlines that operate between Dublin and London. Could you indicate if you're going to head to Dublin immediately after arrival in London? Also, which airport will you be arriving at? Finally, do you have a preference for which London Airport you'll fly back to from Dublin? If you could provide some additional information, it would be easier to provide more specific tips. Happy travels!

Aer Lingus has frequent and cheap flights between LHR and Dublin, Shannon, or Cork. I am waiting another month before booking ours, but I think you book directly at their web site.

Jaye,
Check out Bravofly.com. They will search all low cost carriers in Europe and I've used them several times.

Thanks for the information. I would prefer open jaw travel as I am going to Dublin first, then ending in London but the cost is quite a bit higher than a round trip would be. Which is why I must book a 'hopper' flight between Ireland and London. Will look into the Aer Lingus sight and Bravofly is great! It seems to be getting more and more difficult to find flights that won't break the bank. We are traveling the end of Aug. and into Sept. so will keep searching for a while I guess. Thanks again - happy travels!! :0)

London Heathrow-Dublin on Aer Lingus would be an excellent choice. Fine service and a very reasonable price. You can fly Ryanair between London Gatwick and Dublin for even less than Aer Lingus (under $30 US each way). However, if you don't observe their strict luggage weight and size limits, you'll pay more in fees than you will for your tickets. You can also fly BMI between London Heathrow and Dublin, but you'll pay a bit more than for either Ryanair or Aer Lingus.

Two years ago we flew open jaws to London Heathrow and back from Dublin - we got a good fare on a British Midlands flight from Heathrow to Dublin.
