Air Transat Questions

I'm taking Air Transat (not my choice) from Toronto to Nottingham, England, and will be flying out from Lamezia, Italy to Toronto with looks like another airline but I'm not sure.

TS802* - This is the flight number when departing. Baggage - 20KG
* Operated by Thomas Cook Airlines under flight designator TCX8L

TS973 - This is the flight number when returning. Baggage - 30KG

I don't know how to tell what Air Transat airplane I will be taking so I don't know what the seating arrangement will be like but I'm guessing 2-3-2 from most reviews that I read about Air Transat.

So, how do you find out the airlines' number ie. A310 and would you pay $20 each way to select your seat in advance? It seems like a lot to pay. I didn't pay for my seat selection last year when I traveled to Italy, which was nice.

Isabella, if you go to the air transat website, then click on the seat selection, you will be able to see the airplane and seats available, just put in your reservation number and last name, you will need to pay only if you decide to select a seat and check out.

Hi,

I figured it out. Thank you. I'm now just trying to decide whether to get the Option Plus for $99. It costs $40 to reserve my seats (departure and return) so there's $59 left for the 10Kg extra allowance, alcohol, which I really don't care for, and priority check-in. I have to be there 3 hours in advance anyways so it's not a biggie for me. I'm a bit concerned about the weight because I read that Air Transat will even charge if your 1-2 kg over!

I have 20kg going and 30kg on my return flight. I think that I will be okay b/c I was in Italy for 3 months last year and brought back 2 full suitcases and 1 carry-on with gifts and new clothes, shoes and boots for me! I was allowed the 2 b/c I flew with Air France and Alitalia had to honour it. : )
