Air ticket price

Travel round trip Seattle - London in May 25- June 19 2020....Price in premium Economy, with seat selection... 1882.00 for 2 people round trip. Best price I have found...is on reputable airline I have used before. We feel this is good.....any ideas?? input etc. Do trends dictate lower fares?? Some places will not allow seat selection till check-in and we have been burned by that in the past... We want premium economy and do understand we we will pay abit more.
Thanks

This is certainly a good price. I'm seeing that it's a Virgin flight booked thru Delta.com and it's "economy delight." Premium Class runs $1546 each.

There appear to be 3 economy classes: Economy Light, Classic Economy, and Economy Delight

Premium is what used to be Business Class.

My experience is that airfares drop suddenly then rise in increments, more often then not.

If you buy Classic Economy now, you should be able to add the $160 or so add on later for the Delight upgrade.

Note that the basic fare is Economy Light @ $504 which is a great deal if you don't have a bag to check and love middle seats. The same $941 Delight fare is available at virginatlantic.com

Should that be a direct non-stop flight on British Air that is comparable to the best price I paid for a September 2016 flight which I considered good to my wallet at about $850 for an Economy seat with seat selection and 1 checked bag. Had an unexpected upgrade to Premium Economy on return which was very nice though it made me realize I could have been paying extra for something that other travelers could have been given gratis. You should check the airline's rules closely regarding seat selection; even when paying or having opportunity to choose beforehand, airline may retain the right to change as 'needed'. Not a deal breaker, just good to understand what can be modified after the fact.

It appears caution is in order with Delta's "Economy Delight" for Virgin flights. These do not appear to be Virgin "premium economy" but may be "comfort+" which can be perfectly fine if they do have inches more leg room. I would however be concerned that the article mentions being directed to the back of the plane. That's not the location for "comfort+" on Delta planes. https://pointmetotheplane.boardingarea.com/deltas-convoluted-comfort-scheme-causing-major-price-errors-editorial/

Thanks ...yes I should clarify.....booked directly thru Virgin...Economy Delight, with ability to upgrade to Premium later ..pay the difference. I just spoke with Virgin and they assured me we would be flying THEIR plane and given the seats we asked for. Thanks for the heads up on the Delta thing. Excuse for misspeaking in regard to PE in my initial post.
