Air from Paris to Rome

I am wondering if anyone can offer some advice for two student travelers (on a budget). We fly into Paris (CDG) and would like to get to Rome ASAP (as we are spending our days in Paris at the end of our trip).

I have looked into ryanair and easyJet, but both only offer flights late at night or early morning (which we would miss as we arrive at 7:00am), and neither airlines fly out of CDG, only Orly and Beauvais.
My question is, would it be worth it to book with the late flight (11pm)the same day we arrive, and linger all day before heading to Orly/Beauvais airport, or would it be better to take a flight out the next day, early morning, and spend the day and night close to one of the airports?

Thank you everyone for your advice.

Have you tried Vueling?

We are doing the opposite to you. We're flying to Rome via BA, and then from Rome to Paris on Vueling.

The easyJet flight leaves Orly at 18:10 and arrives at Ciampino at 20:05. The Vueling flight leaves CDG at 18:45 and arrives at Fiumicino at 20:45.

The Paris-Rome night train leaves at 18:59 and arrives at 09:51.

Spend the day in Paris. If you're going to take an evening flight, buy one day zone 1-6 Paris Visite passes (18€) which will cover your transportation from and to the airports and give you unlimited rides in Paris. If you take the night train, buy individual tickets from CDG to Paris (8.20€) and buy single tickets for rides in Paris. Store your luggage at Gare du Nord which is on the RER B line you will ride coming in from CDG.

Vueling is a good option, and they do leave out of CDG, but, they only do two flights a day to Rome, one leaving 8am and one at 7pm. The early flight is too close to your arrival, so that leaves you with the evening flight, which at least is not as late as 11pm.
I typed in fake date June 23 and found one ways for 53 euros. Check out website.

Thanks everyone for your input. I have one more question (more pertaining to Rome).
Should we either:
1. Take the late flight to Rome (arrive 11:00pm at Ciampino airport)?
2. Spend the night in Paris and fly out at 9:00am (arrive at 11:00am at Ciampino)?

Is the Ciampino airport along way from Rome's inner core? Would it be safe to travel that late at night?

Thanks :)

Desirae, have you taken the jet lag into consideration? That might make it worthwhile for you to go ahead and spend the day and night in Paris, then take the early morning flight. I know you're younger than I am, but I'm non-functional by late afternoon on the day of arrival. It might be wise to get a little refreshed before tacking on more additional travel. And your jet lag will make you wake up early the next morning, making that early flight easier to catch.

Desirae,

IMO, the least desirable flight is the one on Ryanair from Beauvais to Ciampino. Beauvais is a LONG WAY from Paris. You will have to board a shuttle bus at Opera three hours before departure. And while you will be able to take a bus from Ciampino to the Termini train station in about 40 minutes, why arrive so late when you don't need to?

As I said in my previous note, if you want to get to Rome the same day, take either the early evening Vueling flight from CDG to Fiumicino or the early evening easyJet flight from Orly to Ciampino.

And I'll suggest the night train one more time. It saves you the cost of a night in a hotel and gives you extra daylight hours for sightseeing since you don't have to take the time to get to an airport, check in, and go through security.

Or simply spend the night in Paris and take an early flight to Rome.

Any of these options is better than the late night Ryanair flight.
