Air France Senior Pass?

I am trying to book flights on Air France and was offered the option of buying a "Senior Pass" which costs 49 Euros per year. They claim this will save up to 30%. For the Europe legs I need to book (Paris to Zurich and back), the cost difference was substantial. A refundable/changeable economy flex ticket was quoted at 312 Euros; the senior pass ticket (refundable but with a 20 Euro change fee) was quoted at 130 Euros.

Is anyone familiar with this Senior Pass and whether or not it is worth using? Does it work on international flights?

I am having trouble booking this particular trip (May-June 2025) because Delta (flying out of Seattle) tells me there are no flights available for a multi-city trip from Seatac to CDG Paris to Zurich and return home to Seattle. Air France has a multi-city trip for this itinerary but their premium economy fare is about $1000 more than flying Delta Premium Select from SEA to CDG roundtrip and then booking AF from CDG to Zurich and return.

Any suggestions?

Can you book SEA to Paris and back to SEA on Delta? You can travel from Paris to Zurich by train in 4 hours—-possibly less than the time it takes to fly, by the time you get to the airports at either city. And certainly less expensive.

Right now a ticket on the direct train from Paris to Zurich2.5 months out is 111 CHF on SBB, for a semi-flexible ticket.

I know your question is about the Senior Pass but....Was there a reason you wanted to route thru CDG? I see routings from SEA->AMS->ZRH and SEA->ATL->ZRH for next May.

I've transited thru CDG and AMS and much prefer AMS but you may have other reasons for wanting it this way.

The pass is valid for domestic EU travel, not international travel.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies. The reason for booking thru Paris is because I am doing a small group tour in France and then going to Switzerland (Zurich, Lauterbrunnen, and Neuchatel) for a family reunion and some sightseeing.

The suggestion about using the train is an interesting one. I will check it out.
