Air France Premium Voyageur

Multi-part question: Traveling from LAX to Italy mid-November and are considering Air France because they have some of the shortest flight times and lowest fares out of LAX. Has anyone flown this airline, how was the service? We are used to flying Business/First on airline miles and are looking at AF's Premium Voyageur seating which is a step down. Does anyone have ANY info on the comfort of these seats. Would you recommend a different airline? All info on Air France would be appreciated. Thanks!

Flew AirFrance a couple of times- only inconveneince was that announcements in the plane were mostly in French with very brief English translations at the end. (Even compared to other Euro Airlines such as Lufthansa). If you understand rapid French no problem. No other negatives

We had great service on Air France, even in coach. The biggest negative we have with them is that usually we end up with a transfer at CDG, but we've been very lucky there even with one hour layovers. We'll consider them again in the future.

We've travelled with Air France four times in Business Class and have been very happy with their service. We are also looking into Premium Voageur seating, as it looks as nice as business, except the seats don't recline fully. If you go on the AF website, they have a 3-D depiction of the Premium Voyageur seats. see http://www.airfrance.us/US/en/common/guidevoyageur/classeetconfort/premium_confort_airfrance.htm Its a private cabin looks right behind Business. Two downsides: no priority baggage or security lines and you have to pay to use the Business lounge (25 E). The transfers at CDG are not hard if you follow the Air France directions available here: http://www.airfrance.us/US/en/common/guidevoyageur/aeroport/correspondance_cdg.htm. Click on "Display the transfer route between the various terminals". We've always allowed 2 hours and had plenty of time.
