Air France Air France Extra Baggage Fee for Transatlantic connected rout

Hello everyone,

I'm planning a trip with Air France from New York, connecting through Paris to Riga. My fare doesn't include checked baggage (tariff Light), and I'm trying to figure out the potential cost for adding a 23kg checked suitcase in airport (as AF do not allow me book it online due to this fare compleated with 2 airlines: AirFrance and AirBaltic) . I understand that Air France's policy is to check baggage fees only at the airport, but I'm hoping to hear about personal experiences or tips from anyone who's had a similar route. How much did you end up paying for your checked baggage, and do you have any advice on managing or reducing these costs? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I looked at the AF site and it does not display 'tariff Light' as an option for JFK-CDG-RIX.
The lowest fare class shown is 'standard economy' and includes a 23kg checked bag, in addition to 12kg of carry-on.

Sorry, cannot help as cannot see the fare you describe.

This baggage info from AF--- https://wwws.airfrance.us/information/bagages/bagage-cabine-soute#tab

leaves me wondering how you can check a bag, as it does not mention your fare class.

There is a "mybookings" link in the above from AF and if you cannot find the answer there , then contacting AF seems to be the only path to a solution.

Good luck

Thank you.
Air France support told that in such case they only can add baggage at AirPort. And costs will be specified at Airport only.
I bought this tickets through KLM. So it is Economy L class. And this class allow only hand luggage. No checked bags for this ticket class.
