Air fare prices in Spain

When buying tickets to fly between cities in Spain, will prices be higher if purchased several days before travel (for instance, 14 day advance gets better fares here in general)? Or is there no penalty to wait and purchase during the trip to allow for flexibility in travel plans?

As with all airlines, the price of tickets is based on capacity and/or travel dates. As the flight fills up, the tickets will get more expensive. Try checking the fares for your dates and dates that are only a few days away on your desired route. We are taking Vueling from Barcelona to Granada. The current rate for our flight in October is 41 Euro. To buy a ticket now for next week, it's 81 Euro. On the other hand, Spanair is the same price of about $110 for next week or October. It usually pays to plan in advance, but sometimes flexibility is worth the extra cost.

Tamara, I have also been looking at flights in spain for my trip in July. With Spain Air...after you choose your date & time, when you select continue and get to the next screen there is an option to select "Change Option." It costs 9 euros and you can change the date and/or time once per ticket until 1 day before your departure...this is the exact quote...

CHANGE OPTION

For only 9€ the “Change Option” gives you the possibility of making one change in your reservation without having to pay the 35€ (for domestic routes) or 50€ (for international routes) penalty payable on our Economy Class flights (for more information on the charges for changing your flight, consult the Rules and Conditions).

1.- What is the Change Option?

The Change Option is a product that gives you, the passenger, the freedom to change your reservation when you buy a ticket that has change restrictions.

I hope that helps you! Happy travels
