Air Dolomiti connection

I have a flight out of Philadelphia to Florence, with a connection in Munich. Usair is operating the first leg of the trip with air Dolomiti doing the second. Usair issued to separate paper tickets for each flight. Tickets say I need to check in at each airport. So my question is, where is the boarding pas getting printed for the Munich to Florence flight and will my bags be checked through? Usair cannot give me a straight answer on the question. They could not give me an e-ticket for the trip because of the air dolomiti ticket. Anyone know?

My wife and I have flown from/to SFO to FLR with Lufthansa+Air Dolomiti and with United+Air Dolomiti (via MUC) and in each instance the bags were checked all the way through. Both boarding passes were given to us at the origin airports (SFO or FLR) Air Dolomiti is an Italian airline now wholly owned by Lufthansa, as such you will be on a Star Alliance code share flight. All Air Dolomiti flights from MUC to FLR and back have a Lufthansa flight number. I am not sure what the deal is with US Air. Do they have a code share agreement with Lufthansa? If so I don't see why you got separate tickets. EDIT: Yes, the flight from PHL to MUC is in code share with Lufthansa. If US Air has no answers, give Lufthansa a call to find out about the MUC to FLR leg on the Lufthansa flight (operated by Air Dolomiti). But when at the PHL airport see if they can check you in all the way to FLR.

No, lufthansa is saying that if there are 2 separate tickets, I will have to collect and recheck my bags.
