My Sweetie and I are planning a trip from Seattle to Vienna next September and return from Salzburg to Seattle. In looking at various websites for fares we found Travelocity to have the least expensive flights for our dates of travel. The flight from the US to Frankfurt will be with Lufthanza and the flight back from Frankfurt to the US will be on Air Canada. Seat ions on Air Canada cannot be made until 24 hours prior to our boarding, according to their website, unless we book directly with Air Canada which we aren't. Of course, we are concerned that we may not be seated together if we can't confirm out seat ion prior to purchasing tickets. Anyone know of a way to get confirmed seating with Air Canada without buying a ticket directly from Air Canada? Or any other advice?
Just call the airline. I've had the "you can't book seats unless you book directly through us" problem before and it has always been solved by a simple phone call to the airline in question.
I booked my tickets on the United website, but 2 of the flights are on Air Canada. I was able to pick my seats. Possibly that is because they are both Star Alliance partners. Is your confirmation number different for the AC flight than it is on Lufthansa? Have you tried entering the confirmation number on the AC website?
Thanks. I'll give them a call.
