I assume it takes time to make these agreements and set up routes so it's just a coincidence that new flights from Canada to Europe are being announced in droves while flights to the US are being cut back. Other new flights from additional Canadian cities, or frequecy increases from current markets announced in just the past few weeks by the big 2 airlines include Porto, Barcelona, Naples, Stockholm, Dublin, Madrid, Brussels, Athens to name a few.
