Going to England in 2013, shortly after my 70th birthday. Am I going to have a problem renting cars due to my age? One rental will be out of Heathrow and another in Scotland. Need to take grandchild to see ancestral sites off the beaten path. Have driving in UK before and very comfortable about doing so.
Unless something's changed, there's no national limit. Limits can be set by the rental agencies. For most it's seventy-five. I think Dollar is the kicker at seventy or else they have a hefty surcharge starting there.
The car rental company we use on the Isle of Islay does not rent to persons over seventy.
