We have tickets on June 22 from Dublin to Milan on Aer Lingus. This flight is the link between our Ireland/Italy 2 week vacation. Any thoughts on when to start worrying or making contingency plans to get to Italy? Thanks!
It's never too early to start worrying ;-)
We are scheduled to fly Aer Lingus in mid June from Washington to Madrid. Does anyone know if this flight would be affected? Thanks!
It depends on who is striking, for one thing. I once flew into Shannon when Aer Lingus had a baggage handlers strike going on. It didn't impact the flight at all, just took a little longer to get our bags, as the flight personnel had to unload the plane. It was only a planned, one-day strike, so really no big deal. What do you know about this one (I haven't heard anything)?
It is the pilots who are threatening to strike. Here is the latest - no talks are currently planned.

Mary, the article that Jim cited contains a link to another article that says that the Washington to Madrid flight would not be affected, nor would any flights originating in Belfast.
