Aegean Air question

Hi All, I have just bought tickets for wife and I on Aegean Air (Paris to Athens next May). Under "Passenger Information" on the page confirming the booking it says "Total Baggage Pieces 0" for each of us.

My question is, does this mean 0 pieces of checked baggage in addition to our one carry-on each? This seems like a reasonable guess, since when I went to "add baggage" the option was to add a 23-kg bag, which is way over the 8-kg cabin limit.

I cannot believe it means anything other than checked bags that you arranged and paid for with your ticket.

Larry, thanks. I expect you're right, though (obviously) I tend to worry about these things. I've written to Aegean Air, and will post the response in case anyone is interested.

Joel,

AFAIK, the "0" bags refers to the fact that you didn't specify any checked baggage when you made the booking. Cabin baggage allowances are shown on their website.

Based on the experience I've had with Aegean, I suspect you'll have a pleasant flight. The last time I travelled with them, my opinion was that they were a "class act". Hopefully that hasn't changed.

Thanks Ken, of course that is what it must mean; I don't know what I was thinking. And based on the reviews, including yours, this does seem like a really good airline. We are looking forward to it, except the 8-kg carry on limit, which may be a challenge for my wife's wheeled bag.

Joel,

I don't recall that they ever weighed my carry-on luggage, but perhaps they do now?

We used them once five or six years. Remember me a lot Southwest airline. Decent service.

Yeah, who knows if they will weigh the luggage; in our limited experience we have never had stuff weighed. But that does not stop us from worrying :-) And we are looking forward to the service. Our least complicated options for travel to Athens were United or some other US airline (American?) which, after checking the reviews, were out of the question. So we're taking Icelandair to CDG, then Aegean. Thank goodness for European carriers.

Update: After 17 days (!) Aegean Air let me know that the "zero baggage" on my booking confirmation referred to zero checked items, as predicted by Larry and Ken. Apparently my question was too silly to take seriously, and I don't blame them.
