A group of 3 will be traveling from Par in Cornwall to Cambridge. When searching for tickets it is assumed we will transfer from Paddington to Kings Cross by underground, and connection times are quite short. However would prefer to transfer by taxi which will be much slower. Should we book as two separate journeys, Par to Paddington, then Kings Cross to Cambridge? Or is there a way to book as one journey excluding the underground portion? If we book the second journey with an anytime ticket then we can transfer with no time constraint. I realize this may not be the cheapest option. Thank you for any suggestions.
An Advance ticket from Par to Cambridge will always include the cross London Tube journey, but it’s OK to take a taxi from Paddington to Kings Cross if you want; then take any train from Kings Cross to Cambridge.
Advance tickets are not sold for Kings Cross to Cambridge so just take the first train available.
Advance tickets are sold separately on the slower route from London Liverpool Street to Cambridge, if this is of any interest to you.
