I am trying to update my profile on the airlines I use, KLM/Northwest/AirFrance. I signed up with these folks before the rules changed. There is no place that I can see on there update your profile page to add a middle name. Does anyone have any advice. I already booked with Alaska before I remembered the new rule. They don't even have a place to put your middle name on their site where you book your ticket!
To change your name on your FF profile, you need to call the airlines directly.
Middle names are the most confused animal when it comes to Secure Flight. TSA has finally responded with something that makes sense. Here it is directly from their FAQ about Secure Flight:
Due to differences in boarding pass systems, boarding passes may not always display the exact name you provided when booking your travel. The name you provide when booking your travel is used to perform the watch list matching before a boarding pass is ever issued, so small differences between the passenger's ID and the passenger name printed on the boarding pass, such as the use of a middle initial instead of a full middle name or no middle name/initial at all, or hyphens and apostrophes should not cause a problem for the passenger.
However, first names differences...using Mary when your ID says "Maryann" may cause problems. Made sure your first and last name do match exactly.
I guess I'll just have to hope for the best. Air France wants me to fax or mail a copy of my passport to them in order to add my middle name to my profile with them. I'm not anxious to do that. It's just odd that when you go to book on Air France it says to put your name exactally as it shows on your passport but there is no place for middle name.
Could you put it on the same line as your first name?
I recently booked a ticket on a Delta/Air France code share. Sometime near the end of the process they took me to another screen to enter my 'passport name.' I think my frequent flyer name with them (Delta) is my first name/middle initial which is different than the way it is on my passport.
