Hello worldly travelers...
Has anyone out there traveled into Genoa and/or Gavi? My wife and I are spending our honeymoon in Italy this October and will be visiting these areas. We are working in a $-$$ budget range and are looking for accomodations for 1-2 nights in either location. Any information is welcome; however we are more interested in "authentic" experiences rather than "touristy" options.

We spent two days in Genova in 2006 and loved it. We stayed here:

I dont remember if breakfast was included but I think not. There is parking nearby if you have a car.The location is great and you can walk to everything you want to see.
They are within walking distance from the train station.
We stayed at Hotel Cairoli in Genoa and enjoyed it. Great location. They pointed us to a super restaurant around the corner, too.
