Accessible Transfers in Rome

Does anyone know of a reliable transfer operator in Rome who can provide fully accessible shuttles? We would need a lift or ramp, no option to climb steps of any kind.
The plan is to transfer from a cruise ship in Civitavecchia to a hotel in central Rome, than back to the FCO Airport a few days later.

Thanks!

Generally Roma Cab (romashuttle.com) is the go to recommendation. They have a web site. So contact them about your specific needs. I am sure they can provide what you need since lifts and ramps are not unique to the US. Also triple check your hotel. Many hotels lists elevators but often there are several steps to get into the hotel. Rome is not all that friendly to wheelchair problems.

Not to mention that some hotel lifts are designed only for luggage- not people!

That is fairly rare. We have never seen that is all of our travels but we have seen elevators that would not big enough for a standard wheel. You do know that the distance from Civit to Rome is around 50 miles or more so that transfer could be very expensive.

Oh yeah, not much choice as far as I can tell though. I haven't been on the trains in Italy. Do you know if the train and the stations would be wheelchair accessible? Specifically in Civitavecchia and Rome Termini.

If you haven't found SageTraveling.com, it might be helpful to visit the site. I'm sure his information is dated but the guy who runs the site is in a wheelchair and he has personally tested accessibility at the most popular tourist destinations. Here's the link to his page on transfers from the port to Rome: http://www.sagetraveling.com/accessible-cruise-ports-rome-civitavecchia-italy

My husband is confined to a wheelchair so I'm familiar with the challenges, but there's always a solution to every problem! Have a great trip.

Just as an update, Roma Cab (Roma Shuttle) just said no to any ramp or lift equipped accessible shuttles.
